PUBLIC RESPONSE
ABOUT THE
DATING VIOLENCE PROGRAM
Dear
Mr. Santoro, I wanted to express my thanks to you for presenting your
Program
to the students and staff at Morton College.
In my ten years of booking lectures at the college, I have never seen
such a
moving and heartfelt program. Your message will positively affect our
students
for a long time to come. It may have also changed some lives.
(Louise
Gasper Czuba, Coordinator of Student Activities)
Dear Tom, you touched
the hearts of everyone that came to hear
you speak; In fact, students are still talking about it. Teachers have
actually
thanked me for bringing you to our school. (Marcia Kochan, Teacher at
Stevenson High School)
Tom, you said if you could touch one life it was worth coming
to
different schools, you touched my life, thanks. (Student-Fremd
High School)
The kids at the snowball hung
on to every word, many cried tears of
sadness, they all left knowing they learned about Dating
Violence. (Annice Rosenthal-Response Center)
Tom, you really helped a lot of students to open up. We had
great
discussions the following days. I hope to see you again. Thank you for
your
bravery and honesty. You have touched my life forever. (Sandy
Nowarita-Teacher_Loyola Academy)
I
think that giving speeches and giving your daughter’s
message of peace is such a gift, you are a man to be treasured.
Thank you for teaching me so much, you are
recognized in my mind as a true mentor.
God bless you. (Margot Robin, New Trier High School)
Tom’s
speech not only touched my heart but changed me
forever, because through his speech I had the pleasure of meeting a
beautiful
person, LISA. Somehow I now want to be
part of the great mission that Tom has started.
Let’s stop violence! (Fadia Tamer, Student)
“Having known Tom
before and after the tragic death of his
beloved Lisa, I have had the opportunity to watch his presentation
evolve over
the years. Tom is a man of great
sincerity and purpose, and his message has tremendous impact on young
people
and parents alike. It is a message that
must be heard. Both young men and women
are greatly touched by his words, and some lives, as indicated by the
letters
he as received, have been forever changed.
Tom has the power to
save lives by his direct and simple
message of respect and trust. Some young
people mention how they never though about this before … that no one
ever
talked to them about what is a healthy relationship and which ones
carry danger
signs. This is indeed a sad reality that
Tom readily addresses.
Every College and
High School student should hear him, as
well as every parent. No one should ever
have to lose a daughter or a son to such tragic circumstances.” (Kathy
Gurney,Dean of Students, Student Advisor,Nazareth Academy High School )
